Why are we called Stocksfield Craft Barn?

I was originally going to call the workshop Susana’s Craft Barn or Suzy’s Craft Barn but I actually wanted it to be ‘ours,’ a place where we can gather to chat, craft and get to know each other. A community hub where everyone feels welcome and for it to belong to Stocksfield. Equally I wanted to reflect the stunning rural setting in which we live. Despite the building not being a barn (although we do have beautiful beams!) I chose the name to evoke the warm and welcoming atmosphere you will receive if you come and visit us here.

About me

My name is Susana. I live in Stocksfield with my husband and two young children.

Unlike other craft studio and craft workshop owners, I am a beginner (possibly like you!) but I do have a passion for learning and doing new crafts.

I believe that crafting has so many benefits but particularly for mental health and wellbeing and I wish to bring that to Stocksfield for all the community to enjoy. I plan to invite many teachers and tutors to come to the barn and share their expertise with us as we learn together.
